Teacher Appreciation

It's Teacher Appreciation next week (May 5-9th) and I made these little stationary sets for my kids teachers this year.  I scored big time when I found these sets on clearance at Michael's last year and they even were the teachers favorite colors by luck!!  I removed the sticker on the front of the plastic case, covered with paper, embellished, added teacher names in vinyl and voila ~ perfect gift!!  Love when a good find comes to good use!!  I'll grade myself an A+ ~ lol!!
Inside containers ~ other set is purple.

Tag It Tuesday

Today is Tag It Tuesday over on My Creative Time blog.
The theme for the tag we are to make today was Floral.  With the fantastic new flower stamps and dies that were just released I had lots of fun making this tag!!  I wanted to make a bright & cheery tag with lots of flowers.  I decided to extend my tag and cut out 3 more in pattern paper to add to the bottom of the main white tag.  This tag will be super cute to add to a gift bag or even used on a card.

Close up of the flowers to show how I used the stamped vines as well as die cut vines to give some depth to the scene.

Paper: Echo Park Paper

Scrapping the Little Things

Happy Monday!  Today is Scrapping the Little Things on the My Creative Time blog.
I love this day to get my pictures out of the box and scrapped!!  My son did one of the kids building classes at Lowe's and not only came home with a perfectly built flying bat, but some memorabilia that I wanted to save on the page once I scrapped it.  The 3x3 envelope die was the perfect solution!  There also was a 8.5 x 11 certificate of achievement filled out and way toooo big for a layout!!  I scanned this certificate and made picture size so the memory is there (& all the info!) and I'll tuck the original behind the layout in the page protector.  I find this a perfect solution for any projects/items, scan and shrink or take a picture. I use this a lot for school projects that I want to showcase but cannot put that fantastic art item in their books ~ lol!!
The new Ampersand set??  A must have!!
Close up of the envelope plus additional stamp I added.

Today is the My Creative Time New Release Blog Hop!

If you would like to start at the beginning, click here. If you have arrived from Lucia's blog then you are on the right track.

Lovin' the new stamp set ~ Build a Pretty Flower!  It's so universal to use and with watercoloring being a big thing with stamping these days, this set is awesome as it gives that watercolor look with straight stamping!!  You can stamp on any paper to "build your flower" or even cut out the flower to create a die cut look.  Also did you see the cutest little ladybug to build in this set??  I haven't stamped him yet but soon he will be added to my projects!!

Here I made this card with "building flowers" on the tag die.

Here is a close up of the "build a flower" ~ love the watercolor look and how you don't have to be perfect with your stamping!!!

Was so excited to create a layout with some of the sets from this new release!  Found some pictures of my daughter on her bike and got busy!!  The bike die is absolutely adorable and I could design it to look just like my daughters bike!  Love that!!  The ampersand is huge right now and what better way to showcase than on a layout!

Here is the layout I created using these two new sets.

Day 3 ~ My Creative Time New Release

Hope you are enjoying the Sneaky Peeks so far.......this release is sooo much fun.

Today I am sneaking "Wishing You Were Here" & "Stitched Pretty Flowers & Leaves". The Wishing You were Here set is stamps and comes with coordinating dies.  Flowers & Leaves are straight die cuts and I LOVE them!!!  You may have seen last release where a couple of Design Team Ladies sneak peeked these for you!  I was a little unsure how to showcase the Wishing you were Here, but ended up loving the bench stamp with die!  I thought this was a perfect combo of stamps and dies to use on a CD calendar page for May.  Now I'll have to keep up with each monthly page as I go but this will not be a hard task with MCT products!!  Special bonus for you ~ here is the calendar to print for yourself here courtesy of Paper Crafts Magazine ~ enjoy!

Here is a close up of the flowers and leaves die cuts ~ I used the small flower stamps from Pretty Spring Wreaths to stamp in middle of die cut flowers, then added sprinkles.

Today I am showcasing "Main Street Stamp Set" and "Way To Go Stamp Set with coordinating dies".  I found this notebook on clearance at Michaels and knew I could cover the front flap with paper and do my own thing on it!  My daughter loves to write in notebooks so thought of her as I decorated the cover.  These two new sets were the perfect combination to completing this notebook!  Now my daughter can record her daily activities in her own "life" journal!

LOVE the new bike die!!  Isn't it adorable!!
I embossed the sentiment stamp to really highlight and be seen on the black background.

Try Me Tuesday ~ Ghost Stamping

Happy Tuesday!  It's Try Me Tuesday over at My Creative Time.
Today we are doing "Ghost Stamping" technique.  I've never done this before and researching all about it, I found a couple of different ways you can do it.  One way is to stamp your image with white ink and once dry, stamp same image over top with a color and offset just a tad so you have a white "ghost" of a shadow behind color.  Another way to do this technique is to stamp your image with white ink on white paper and once dry, rub a color over the stamped image.  This is the technique I tried as I just couldn't get a stamped image right doing the other technique.  The technique I did actually makes a dry embossed look to me but love how it gives a whole new way to use your stamps!!

Here is a close up showing how you can see the stamped images once colored with ink.  I just rubbed across the white stamped images with a sponge dauber to bring out the design.
Products Used:
Paper:  My Mind's Eye

Hope this inspired you to try this technique!!

Anniversary

It's my Anniversary this weekend and was totally inspired by a card on Pinterest here to create.  The stamping technique with a die cut was right up my ally to try!! I cut half a heart from the pattern paper, lined it up on my card base and then stamped with the large polka dot heart from Puffy Hearts Stamp Set.  Love how it turned out and know Hubby will like it too!!  Used 2 different stamp sets by My Creative Time to get the "happy anniversary" that I liked.
Products Used:
Paper: Canvas Corp.

Inspiration Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  It's Inspiration Wednesday over at My Creative Time.
Today we are to post a project that we were inspired to make from something that inspired us.
I was inspired by the stack of books on my nightstand. Every night I love to read and every time I open my book, I think about the fact that I should make myself a cute bookmark to replace the little piece of paper I currently have!  Well today was the day that I finally made myself a bookmark!!  Little did I know that the scraps of papers and MCT dies would inspire me to make a card too!!

Here is my inspiration:

Here is my bookmark:

Close ups of the bookmark ~ love the Geotag and Peep!!

Product List:
Paper: Jillibean Soup ~ Sightseeing Stew
My Creative Time:
Twine and Eyelet

And as I was making this bookmark, a couple of dies inspired me to make a card from the rest of the papers.

Scrapping the Little Things

Happy Monday!  Today is Scrapping the Little Things on the My Creative Time blog.
One of my first stamp sets from My Creative Time was the football ~ Touchdown set.  My son is really into football and thought this set was perfect.  I've made cards with this set but with all the football pictures that I seem to be collecting, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to use the stamp set on a layout.  I absolutely love how it turned out!

Isn't the football player and circle stamp perfect!!

Thrifty Thursday with a Sketch

Happy Thursday!!  Today we are doing a little twist with Thrifty Thursday and adding a Sketch too on My Creative Time Blog.
The goal was to create a project using scraps/leftovers or a recycled item AND this sketch that our DT Sister Liz created.

 I absolutely love sketches!!
They give you a great "blueprint" to get creative with your design!

Here is a card I created from this sketch and then I turned around and did a matching bag ~ gotta love scraps!!

So what do you think??  Kept with the basics of the sketch??  What would you design around this sketch?

Here is the card close up:

Have a thing for bags this week ~ lol!!  Cute matching gift bag will make a birthday complete!!
